A night at Wilkes Hilton - 14 Feb 2006

It is a Tuesday night and I am off to the Wilkes Hilton for the night.
A few of us have decided we are going to venture out on a school-night. Ah we live dangerously down here indeed! ;o]
We haven’t had much of a chance to get off station and have been working pretty hard, so we thought it would be nice just to get away. It is easy to go a bit stir crazy when you work long days and nights; 6 days a week. So just to get away we jump on the quads and head on over to the Wilkes Hilton for no other reason than – we can.
It is a gorgeous night. Warm, sunny, fabulous. We have some dinner. Petie plays us a tune or two on his trusty guitar and Lisa sings along. It is a nice overnight jaunt.
We wake at 5:30- and Petie treats us to pancakes for breakfast.
There must be no better way to start the day than pancakes and coffee at the Wilkes Hilton in Antarctica.
Very cool indeed.
Then we head back home and are at work by 8am.
It has been a quick getaway but really excellent for recharging the batteries and making our souls soar a little higher. Great surrounding, great company and a great time had by all.
